On January 11–12, 2025, at the start of the new year, the “Advanced Practical Training Course on Motion Acupuncture” hosted by the American Society for the Preservation of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture and led by Dr. Decheng Chen, the inventor of Motion Acupuncture Theory, was held with great success in Flushing, New York.
This course was designed as an exclusive, small-class practical training, and interest was exceptionally high. Although initially limited to 50 participants, the event ultimately hosted 54 in-person attendees and an additional 10 participants who joined via live online streaming, bringing the total number of trainees to 64.
The training featured high-quality, bilingual instruction in both Chinese and English, with simultaneous interpretation provided by Diana Cao, a seasoned Chinese medicine interpreter based in New York. This enabled English-speaking participants to fully engage and enjoy the experience.
Participants traveled from across North America, including California in the West, Florida in the South, Washington, D.C., in the East, and cities in Canada such as Ottawa and Vancouver. Braving long distances, harsh weather, and winter storms, they arrived in New York with passionate hearts and a shared goal: to master the art of Motion Acupuncture!
The two-day Motion Acupuncture course was structured with a clear focus: the first day covered the unique techniques of Motion Acupuncture and the treatment of upper body conditions, while the second day delved into the mechanism of action and treatments for lower body ailments.
For each key muscle group, Dr. Decheng Chen randomly selected participants from the audience who had corresponding conditions to demonstrate the needling technique and perform live treatments. Enthusiastic volunteers eagerly came forward, and the room was often filled with applause and cheers.
Dr. Chen chose demonstration subjects based on a voluntary system, allowing participants to come on stage for treatment. Among the volunteers, the person with the most severe condition was selected through a combination of reported pain levels and dynamic assessments conducted by the audience.
Each patient treated by Dr. Chen experienced varying degrees of improvement, leaving the participants in awe of the technique’s effectiveness.
