[Guangzhou News] From March 20 to 22, 2026, during the Spring Equinox as Guangzhou was in full bloom, the “2026 Motion Acupuncture Premium Hands-On Training” was successfully held in Guangzhou. The course was led by renowned acupuncturist Dr. Decheng Chen, third-generation inheritor of the Chengjiang lineage and founder of Motion Acupuncture.

Teaching Session in Progress
The Motion Acupuncture Premium Hands-On Training, jointly organized by QH Qihuang Network and the Guangdong Health China Research Association, concluded successfully in Guangzhou.
The course was personally taught by Dr. Decheng Chen, founder of Motion Acupuncture, and adopted a teaching model that integrated theory with hands-on practice. Nearly 50 participants attended the three-day training.
Attendees came from Saudi Arabia, the United States, Japan, Malaysia, Australia, Brazil, Taiwan (China), Hong Kong (China), as well as various regions across mainland China including Changchun, Yunnan, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Wenzhou. The oldest participant was 76 years old, demonstrating remarkable dedication and enthusiasm for learning.
Under Dr. Chen’s careful guidance, participants systematically studied and reinforced the theoretical foundations and needling techniques of Motion Acupuncture, significantly contributing to the improvement of clinical skills and treatment outcomes.

Participants Listening Attentively
I. Continuous Innovation in Needling Techniques
This marks the fourth consecutive year that Dr. Decheng Chen has held a Motion Acupuncture training course in Guangzhou, with some participants attending all four years. Many have noted that each year’s content is refreshed, offering new insights every time.
A participant from Wenzhou shared enthusiastically: “Dr. Chen’s lectures are never repetitive. Although Motion Acupuncture is taught every year, each session brings something new. Every time I come to Guangzhou, I’m able to resolve clinical challenges, and my needling skills improve significantly with each course.”

Meticulous and Insightful Teaching
Dr. Chen began with the core theories of muscular layers and myofascial structures, systematically explaining the diagnostic and treatment framework of Motion Acupuncture: “point location as the foundation, needling as the key, and movement as the core.” He provided in-depth instruction on the essential technique of needle traction in cases of resistance and the clinical application of dynamic needle retention.
Through a close integration of theory and hands-on practice, participants gradually mastered practical skills for treating chronic soft tissue pain, including neck, shoulder, low back, and extremity conditions, as well as sports injuries.
During the course, Dr. Chen generously shared over 40 years of clinical experience. Participants actively engaged, practiced repeatedly, and achieved a highly effective learning outcome—“easy to learn, immediately applicable in practice.”

This course not only built a meaningful bridge for exchange between Eastern and Western rehabilitation approaches, but also equipped each participant with practical, clinically applicable skills—laying a strong foundation for improving musculoskeletal health in their communities.
Looking ahead, we will continue to share the latest developments and representative clinical cases in Motion Acupuncture Medicine. We look forward to working alongside more colleagues to bring this precise and highly effective acupuncture approach to a broader patient population.

II. Real-Time Clinical Practice with Remarkable Results
A defining highlight of this training was its strong emphasis on hands-on clinical practice. Dr. Decheng Chen emphasized that the essence of Motion Acupuncture lies in precision and rapid therapeutic effect.
Throughout the three-day course, rather than focusing on lengthy theoretical lectures, Dr. Chen invited volunteers on-site with representative conditions and conducted multiple live, real-time diagnostic and treatment demonstrations. These cases covered a wide range of common conditions, including disorders of the head and neck, shoulder and elbow, lower back and legs, as well as facial conditions.

Immediate Relief for Restricted Neck Pain
For patients with limited neck flexion and extension, Dr. Chen applied a structured “three-step, one-process” assessment to accurately identify the responsible muscle groups, such as the scalenes and sternocleidomastoid.
With the insertion of Motion Acupuncture needles and guided movement under dynamic needle retention, the patient’s cervical range of motion improved from restricted to normal within just a few minutes. Participants witnessed firsthand the remarkable effect of immediate relief with a single needle.

Immediate Improvement in Shoulder and Knee Pain
For participants and volunteers with chronic shoulder and knee pain, Dr. Chen approached treatment by restoring mechanical balance in the shoulder joint and muscle coordination around the knee.
By releasing tension in the myofascial structures and integrating specific movement patterns, he was able to significantly reduce pain and improve joint function.

Remarkable Results in Complex Conditions
Beyond common pain conditions, Dr. Chen also demonstrated advanced treatments for facial paralysis and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.
He provided a detailed analysis of the anatomy and function of facial muscles, and through precise needling techniques to regulate muscle tension, patients showed immediate improvements in mouth opening and facial symmetry. These outcomes further highlighted the broad clinical potential of Motion Acupuncture in treating not only pain-related conditions but also more complex, non-pain disorders.

Integrating Theory with Practice: A Course Designed for Immediate Clinical Application
With over 40 years of clinical experience, Dr. Decheng Chen is known for his clear, accessible, and highly practical teaching style. He systematically introduced the core framework of Motion Acupuncture—MA points, Motion Acupuncture needles, techniques, dynamic needle retention, and underlying theory—while providing hands-on guidance in key methods such as needle traction in cases of resistance.

During the course, participants not only studied major muscular anatomy from head to toe and its related clinical applications, but also, through extensive hands-on practice, mastered standardized diagnostic and treatment protocols for common conditions such as neck pain, low back pain, frozen shoulder, and lumbar disc herniation.
This “learn today, apply tomorrow” approach left participants feeling that the knowledge and skills gained would benefit them for a lifetime.

III. Passing on the Tradition: Mentorship and Lineage
During the event, a solemn and traditional apprenticeship ceremony in Chinese medicine was held. As a third-generation inheritor of the Chengjiang lineage, Dr. Decheng Chen has long been committed to promoting acupuncture both internationally and within China.
Following a rigorous evaluation and approval process by the Motion Acupuncture team, two new disciples were formally accepted in Guangzhou: Dr. Lantianye, Chief Physician and Director of the Rehabilitation Department at the Affiliated Hospital of Changchun University of Chinese Medicine, and Dr. Zhang Lixia, Associate Chief Physician and Director of the Rehabilitation Department at Changchun Lvyuan District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The purpose of this mentorship is to further cultivate and expand Motion Acupuncture—an innovative system integrating modern anatomy with traditional meridian and sinew theory—so that it can take deeper root domestically and benefit more patients.
During the ceremony, the new disciples followed traditional rites, offering tea and paying respect to their teacher, expressing their commitment to advancing Chinese medicine and carrying forward the essence of acupuncture. Dr. Chen encouraged them to remain diligent in clinical practice and rigorous in critical thinking, using true expertise to serve patients.

Conclusion
The successful completion of the 2026 Guangzhou Premium Hands-On Training not only demonstrated the unique advantages of Motion Acupuncture in treating soft tissue injuries and pain, but also provided an excellent model for the modernization and standardization of acupuncture practice.
As Motion Acupuncture continues to expand globally, Dr. Decheng Chen and his team are bringing the benefits of “relaxed sinews and aligned structure” to an increasing number of patients suffering from pain.
