[Sydney, October 31, 2025 ] The 22nd World Congress of Traditional Chinese Medicine, hosted by the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS), grandly opened today in Sydney, Australia.
With the theme “Promoting TCM Culture and Technological Innovation from a Global Perspective,” the congress attracted more than 800 experts, scholars, government officials, and industry representatives from 24 countries and regions, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Singapore.

Mind–Body Medicine Session Lecture & Demonstration: “Structural Adjustment Using Motion Acupuncture for Insomnia and Depression”
Featured Interview Program: “TCM Tourism and Health”
Motion Acupuncture Medicine received significant attention at this year’s congress, further elevating its international influence and recognition.
Keynote Speech: “Mechanisms and Clinical Workflow of Motion Acupuncture in Pain Management” Impresses the Audience

On November 1, at the main plenary session of the congress, Dr. Decheng Chen delivered his keynote presentation titled “Mechanisms and Clinical Workflow of Motion Acupuncture in Pain Management.” Through extensive clinical images and live demonstration videos, he provided participants with a systematic overview of the unique mechanisms and remarkable therapeutic effectiveness of Motion Acupuncture.
Even more impressive, Dr. Chen performed live demonstration treatments for volunteer participants on site, including:
Neck pain, limited in head flexion

Shoulder pain, limited in abduction

Lumbar pain, limited in flexion

In nearly all demonstrations, just one to two needles produced immediate and significant improvement.
The audience repeatedly expressed astonishment, praising Motion Acupuncture for its rapid results, direct effectiveness, and clear underlying mechanisms.
Mind–Body Medicine Session: “Structural Adjustment with Motion Acupuncture for Insomnia and Depression” — Advocating the Unity of Body and Spirit

In the Mind–Body Medicine session, Dr. Decheng Chen was invited to deliver a featured lecture. Centered on the concept that “structure determines function, and structural abnormalities can lead to mind–body disorders,” he explained the profound impact of structural instability on mental health and emotional well-being.

He explained that tension in the scalene muscles of the neck can compress the subclavian artery, resulting in reduced cerebral blood flow and subsequently causing symptoms such as dizziness, anxiety, insomnia, and depression. By using Motion Acupuncture to release and correct cervical structural imbalances, cerebral circulation can be significantly improved, thereby addressing these conditions at their root.
One of Dr. Chen’s frequently cited statements resonated strongly with the audience: “When a disease is caused by a physical problem, it must be solved through a physical approach.”

During the live demonstration of Motion Acupuncture treatment on the cervical scalene muscles, the volunteer immediately reported feeling lighter in the head, clearer in vision, easier in breathing, and more relaxed and uplifted in mood.
TCM Tourism and Health: Advocating for the Promotion of Appropriate Techniques and Strengthening Talent Development

In the themed interview “TCM Tourism and Health,” Dr. Decheng Chen joined representatives from Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, and China to discuss the role and future development of Traditional Chinese Medicine within the global health-tourism industry.

Moderated by President Zhu Guizhen of the WFCMS Specialty Committee of Health Tourism, the discussion highlighted global perspectives on TCM development. Speaking from the standpoint of TCM and acupuncture heritage in the United States, Dr. Chen emphasized that Traditional Chinese Medicine holds tremendous potential in the international health-tourism sector. He advocated prioritizing the promotion of safe, effective, and scalable TCM techniques, alongside strengthening professional talent development to further advance TCM on the global stage. His views were met with broad agreement among the participants.
Reuniting with New and Old Friends During the Congress
During the congress, Dr. Chen also had the pleasure of meeting Professor Zhang Boli, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as many TCM colleagues from around the world.
