Motion Acupuncture Officially Enters Canadian TCM Schools

On December 1, 2025, a dynamic Motion Acupuncture training course was held in Toronto, Canada. The event was hosted by the well-known John & Jenny TCM College, one of the reputable Traditional Chinese Medicine institutions in Toronto. Dr. Decheng Chen received a warm welcome from the college’s faculty, students, and alumni. The classroom was filled to capacity, with every seat occupied.

Although December weather in Toronto is cold, the atmosphere inside the classroom was vibrant and full of warmth. Students seemed to forget the winter chill as excitement filled the room. They were deeply impressed by the remarkable effects of Motion Acupuncture. During the hands-on treatment demonstrations, several participants experienced immediate relief from long-standing chronic conditions—some were even moved to tears.

John & Jenny TCM College is supported by the John & Jenny TCM Clinic, the John & Jenny TCM Oncology Center, the Gynecology Center, the Pain Management Center, and several specialty outpatient services. With nearly 8,000 square feet of space and a first-class clinical and teaching environment, it is one of the largest Traditional Chinese Medicine colleges in Ontario and across Canada.

As a sister institution to top TCM universities in China—Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine—the college maintains close academic collaboration. Renowned TCM experts from China are regularly invited to provide on-site instruction and academic lectures. With a strong focus on both clinical training and academic excellence, the college is committed to delivering the highest standard of TCM education in North America.

Since the establishment of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO), the school has guided students in preparing for the national licensing examinations for acupuncturists and TCM practitioners for twelve consecutive years. With extensive exam-preparation experience, the college has consistently achieved one of the highest pass rates in the region. It has trained a large number of highly skilled, well-prepared acupuncture and TCM professionals for Ontario and other parts of Canada, earning widespread recognition and praise from employers.

During the training session, Dr. Decheng Chen, as always, emphasized the importance of hands-on effectiveness in Motion Acupuncture—and this event was no exception. He conducted live demonstrations on randomly selected participants among the faculty and students. The group collectively chose whom to treat, often selecting the individual with the most limited range of motion. Those chosen felt fortunate and were affectionately referred to as the “lucky ones.”

Within just a few minutes of treatment, attendees were astonished to witness significant improvements in various chronic pain conditions. Dr. Chen skillfully located the Motion Points using his signature “three-step procedure,” performing precise needle insertion followed by lifting–thrusting and guided movement therapy. His techniques flowed smoothly and efficiently, and the results were immediate: every participant reported reduced pain and improved functional mobility.

The faculty and students in attendance were visibly excited. Professor Jinhong Liu, the president of the college, expressed his enthusiasm, stating that Motion Acupuncture will be incorporated as a special course at the institution to train students into highly skilled practitioners in pain management.
