Personal Experience & Biography

Wei Qin started her physician training at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine in 1986, the most prestigious school of Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in China. She majored in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine during her six-year program of TCM study as well as Western medicine. After graduating from medical school, Wei Qin practiced both Western and Chinese medicine in China. She began her career as a physician at the Beijing Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, which is the teaching hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. After several years, Wei Qin began practicing as a radiologist, specializing in ultrasound. While practicing radiology, she worked at Peking University First Hospital for ten-years, one of the three major hospitals in Beijing and one of the ten major hospitals in China. During her nearly 30-year medical career, Wei Qin treated a broad range of illnesses and diseases. 

Therapist Qualifications

While practicing, Wei Qin had the opportunity to experience numerous cases involving a wide variety of conditions, allowing her to develop expertise in the ultrasound specialty area. In addition to being a practicing physician, Wei Qin was involved with many clinical research studies and published several papers on various topics in the area of ultrasound. She was also a member on the Society of Ultrasound Vascular Medicine Committee and wrote part of the Guidelines for Vascular Ultrasound that was used throughout China. After moving to the United States in 2012, Wei Qin continued to work in the medical field as a sonographer with a focus on vascular related diseases, holding the certification of Registered Physician Vascular Interpretation (RPVI). She has been employed by the Presbyterian Hospital in New Mexico, the Ohio State University Medical Center, and Ohiohealth in Columbus Ohio. Wei Qin’s extensive education and work experience provides her with a deep understanding of how acupuncture and herbal medicine can complement and be integrated with Western medicine.
