[Changchun News] On December 7, 2024, the 3rd World Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Conference, organized by the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS), the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Changchun Sub-Council, grandly opened at the Northeast Asia International Conference Center in Changchun, Jilin Province.

With the theme “Advancing Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Innovation, Enhancing International Influence and Service Capabilities”, the conference attracted over 700 experts, scholars, government officials, and business representatives in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from 37 countries and regions, including China, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Russia, Singapore, the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, France, Hungary, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and more. The event’s opening ceremony and keynote sessions were globally live-streamed, garnering over 1.3 million views.
Day 2 Highlights (December 8, 2024):
The second phase of the conference featured three academic sessions:
• International and Modern Applications of Acupuncture and Tui Na
• Traditional Chinese Medicine External Therapies
• Visceral Manipulation
Renowned experts, including Dr. Decheng Chen, Dr. Jishun Hao, Dr. GuiRong Dong and others, delivered presentations and live demonstrations. Over 500 participants, including academics, clinicians, and enthusiasts, joined to explore the latest advancements and clinical applications in acupuncture and Tui Na techniques.

On the morning of December 8, Dr. Decheng Chen, head of the Natural Acupuncture Health Center in New York, presented a keynote lecture titled Essentials of Motion Acupuncture. Dr. Chen explained the concepts of the technique concisely and vividly, receiving great interest and praise from attendees.

Live Demonstration:
In the afternoon, Dr. Chen conducted a live demonstration of the Motion Acupuncture Technique. Volunteers with various chronic pain conditions were selected:
• Neck pain with restricted head movement,
• Shoulder stiffness due to adhesive capsulitis,
• Long-standing plantar pain limiting mobility.
Using just 1–3 needles, Dr. Chen achieved immediate relief for these individuals, with significant improvements in pain and range of motion. The audience responded with enthusiastic applause.

Volunteer 1: Chronic neck pain and stiffness with restricted upward head movement.After treatment, neck pain was resolved, and range of motion significantly improved.

2. Volunteer 2: Severe neck pain restricting downward head movement. Using 2–3 needles, pain relief and motion improvement was evident within minutes.

Volunteer 3: Senior TCM practitioner with chronic shoulder pain and restricted motion due to adhesive capsulitis. Have tried self-treatments however not satisfied. After a single needle treatment by Dr. Chen, the volunteer reported pain relief and restored mobility. Patient is very excited!

4. Volunteer 4: Years of plantar pain causing difficulty walking. Dr. Chen used two needles in the calf area, resulting in immediate pain relief and improved walking.

These outcomes left the audience deeply impressed by the technique’s efficacy, earning praise from experts like Professor Zhang Min from Changchun University of Chinese Medicine.
