From December 18 to 21, 2025, the 13th World Congress of Integrative Medicine was grandly held in Changchun, Jilin Province. The congress was organized by the China Association of Integrative Medicine, and jointly hosted by the Jilin Association of Integrative Medicine, Changchun University of Chinese Medicine, The First Hospital of Jilin University, Affiliated Hospital of Changchun University of Chinese Medicine, The Second Hospital of Jilin University, China–Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University, and the Third Clinical Affiliated Hospital of Changchun University of Chinese Medicine.
Under the theme “Digital Intelligence Empowering Integrative Medicine for Lifelong Health,” the congress brought together over 4,800 experts and scholars from more than a dozen countries and regions, including China, Russia, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, Egypt, South Korea, Belgium, the United States, Sweden, Japan, and Thailand.
Through one main venue, six special forums, and thirteen parallel sessions, participants engaged in in-depth, wide-ranging, and high-level academic exchanges on cutting-edge topics, jointly mapping out the innovative blueprint and future development pathways for integrative medicine in the new era.


On December 21, 2025, at the congress’s “Chronic Disease Prevention and Management” forum, Professor Decheng Chen, as a specially invited guest, delivered a comprehensive presentation on his original therapeutic system—Motion Acupuncture Therapy.
Entitled “Rapid Treatment for Chronic Conditions: Methods and Mechanisms of Motion Acupuncture in Pain Management,” the lecture combined theoretical exposition with live clinical demonstration, vividly illustrating how this innovative approach offers a new paradigm for pain diagnosis and treatment.
During the theoretical session, Professor Chen first outlined the current status of Motion Acupuncture’s global dissemination and clinical adoption. The therapy has now expanded internationally, with teaching programs and clinical demonstrations conducted across the United States, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Its defining clinical characteristics—rapid onset of therapeutic effect and precise pathological targeting—have attracted a growing number of physicians worldwide to study and implement the method.

Behind the therapy lies a complete and innovative clinical system. Professor Chen highlighted the specially designed Motion Acupuncture needles, which are protected by national patents. Unlike traditional smooth filiform needles, these instruments feature unique surface texturing, enabling more effective application of the signature needle-anchoring and traction technique, thereby achieving precise release of fascial adhesions.
In addition, a series of authoritative publications—including Motion Acupuncture Therapy and Motion Acupuncture Medicine—have established a solid theoretical foundation and a standardized operational framework for the therapy, further supporting its widespread clinical adoption and academic development.

Professor Chen further elaborated on the core diagnostic and therapeutic framework of Motion Acupuncture—the “Three-Step Integrated Assessment Protocol.” This system unifies dynamic diagnosis, targeted tissue release, and movement with needles in place, seamlessly integrating modern myofascial anatomy with traditional needling techniques.
The result is a reproducible and verifiable dynamic precision-based clinical pathway, representing a paradigm shift in treatment—from traditional “static regulation of Qi” to “dynamic restoration of musculoskeletal function.”

“The true vitality of acupuncture lies in its clinical effectiveness, and the ultimate measure of any technique is its therapeutic outcome,” Professor Decheng Chen emphasized before the live demonstration began.
No sooner had his words concluded than numerous attendees—many of whom had long suffered from chronic pain—raised their hands, eager to personally experience the therapy firsthand.


A participant with chronic low back pain—selected by the audience—presented with marked limitations in both lumbar flexion and extension. Rather than immediately inserting needles, Professor Chen first conducted a careful consultation and guided the patient through active movement, combined with expert palpation for dynamic assessment. This process precisely identified the “responsible muscles” as the gluteus maximus and tensor fasciae latae.
For treatment, he selected only one critical Motion Point on the gluteus maximus, where he demonstrated in detail the layered techniques of limited traction and maximal traction. With the needle retained in place, Professor Chen then guided the patient through targeted lumbar movements.
Within just a few minutes, the patient’s lumbar range of motion improved dramatically and visibly, triggering enthusiastic applause from the audience.


Although the official conference program had concluded, the attention surrounding Motion Acupuncture continued to grow. A patient who had been suffering from medial epicondylitis of the humerus (golfer’s elbow) for more than a year sought out Professor Decheng Chen outside the conference venue. At the time of consultation, the patient’s elbow remained taped with medicated patches, and the pain had persisted despite prolonged treatment.


Following a meticulous assessment, Professor Chen addressed the inflammation at the patient’s specific tendon attachment site using Motion Acupuncture’s classic “cross-pattern needling technique.” This method applies multi-directional release to the affected myofascial tissues, effectively resolving deep-seated adhesions.
Immediately after treatment, the patient reported that the elbow pain had largely disappeared, and the long-standing sensation of tightness was significantly relieved. This highly efficient off-site intervention once again powerfully demonstrated the remarkable potential of Motion Acupuncture in the treatment of chronic soft-tissue pain conditions.

Professor Decheng Chen’s participation in this congress was not merely a demonstration of technique, but a profound transmission of clinical reasoning and medical philosophy. With its rigorous theoretical foundation, innovative patented instruments, and reproducible rapid-effect clinical pathway, Motion Acupuncture vividly illustrated a cutting-edge direction for the modernization of traditional acupuncture on this high-level integrative medicine platform.
The approach suggests an important shift in pain management—from simply “treating pain locations” to precisely “treating myofascial dysfunction.” In doing so, it offers countless patients a more direct and effective pathway toward recovery.
