On September 7, 2025, the Florida Acupuncture Association (FAA) hosted a one-day Motion Acupuncture Foundation Course near West Palm Beach. More than 60 participants attended the training. The atmosphere was full of energy and enthusiasm, with frequent laughter in the classroom as everyone learned new knowledge and techniques of acupuncture in a relaxed and joyful setting.

The Florida Acupuncture Association is a professional organization established more than thirty years ago by a small group of licensed acupuncturists in Florida. Over the past three decades, under the leadership of its Board of Directors, the association has continued to grow and expand, with a significant increase in membership. The association has always been a steadfast supporter of the acupuncture profession in Florida and across the United States.

This Motion Acupuncture training was a foundation course providing an introduction to the general principles of Motion Acupuncture, and for many participants it was their first exposure to this approach. Drawing on clinical cases, Dr. Chen analyzed and explained the concepts of Motion Points, Motion Needles, Motion Methods, Motion Postures, and Motion Principles. With clear and vivid descriptions, he illustrated the theoretical system of Motion Acupuncture: “Point location is the foundation, needling is the key, and movement is the core.”

Dr. Decheng Chen responded to the students’ questions and performed demonstrative treatments for the participants’ ailments on site, achieving satisfying therapeutic results.

During the demonstration treatments, participants eagerly volunteered to be the subjects. Whether it was long-standing adhesive shoulder capsulitis or chronic low back pain, once Dr. Chen applied Motion Acupuncture, the symptoms were quickly relieved.

Even more remarkable was the case of a student’s mother, over 80 years old, who came to the event. She had suffered from knee pain for more than 30 years and had never been able to squat, with great difficulty climbing stairs. After receiving treatment with just two Motion Acupuncture needles from Dr. Chen, she was immediately able to squat. Everyone present was astonished, praising the extraordinary effectiveness of Motion Acupuncture, and many expressed their determination to study this technique diligently in the future.

Dr. Hongjian He, senior TCM practitioner and former president of the Florida Acupuncture Association, spoke with great excitement:
“I first came across Motion Acupuncture in 2020 and became one of its very first followers, through an online course on Qihuang Net in China. Since then, I have been using Motion Acupuncture consistently. It is far superior to other needles, and I now use it in my clinical practice every day. Especially for difficult and complicated cases, the therapeutic results are truly outstanding.”

Current president Xin Tong remarked:
“This event marks the first in-person gathering of Florida acupuncturists since the pandemic in 2020. It is our great honor to have invited Dr. Chen to Florida. Through this training, we have gained significant improvement in both acupuncture theory and technique. We sincerely hope that Dr. Chen will return to Florida in the future to provide systematic intermediate and advanced Motion Acupuncture courses.”
